Pilar García (they/them/theirs) is a two-spirit undergraduate studying English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. They are a Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar, a BIPOC Scholar with the Point Foundation, and a prominent Native American Student Association member at UTK. Since 2021, their work has been featured in MSU’s Roadrunner Review, Sigma Kappa Delta’s Hedera Helix, and Columbia State Community College’s Perceptions. Pilar hopes to continue their poetic journey by beginning their MFA in 2023 after completing their Bachelor’s degree.

Being an underprivileged student from rural Tennessee, their poetry focuses on various aspects of their queer identity, disability, and experiences as a person of color. Primarily being a poet who works with visual aspects of art, such as poetry comics, and hopes to publish a chapbook featuring their visual poems after completing their MFA.
